Horner on Piquet comments: 'We are supporting Hamilton'

There has been a lot of talk about racism in Formula 1 this past week. First Juri Vips and not much later Nelson Piquet are both said to be guilty of racist language. Vips could forget his future at Red Bull Racing, while Piquet is no longer welcome in the F1 paddock.
While many teams have condemned the language used by the former F1 World Champion, Red Bull has stuck to a statement about racism and the sacking of their test driver Vips. Christian Horner was asked why Red Bull did not make a separate statement condemning Piquet's remarks to Lewis Hamilton. At Sky Sports the team boss explains the choices his team has made.
Red Bull is against racism
"We felt that we made a very strong statement through the action of dropping Juri from the team. We put out a statement early on in the day about having zero tolerance for racism and then to put out another statement about Piquet." That probably felt double to Horner and Red Bull, which doesn't mean they aren't behind Hamilton at Red Bull.
"We are fully behind Lewis and we are signed up to the commission," he said. Not only Red Bull, but also Verstappen did not let on about the controversy surrounding Piquet. According to Horner, there is no point in looking for something behind it. "Max has been absolutely clear that he is fully supportive of Lewis, as he stated in the press conference yesterday. Not just Lewis, but any form of racism or discrimination in the sport."
