Red Bull terminate contract with reserve driver Vips
- GPblog.com
Red Bull Racing has said goodbye to its junior driver Jüri Vips. The Estonian was in the news after making racist remarks during an online gaming session on Twitch. Red Bull says it is against any form of racism.
Comment by Vips
Vips hit the headlines last Wednesday after he used the N-word during an online stream of fellow Red Bull-junior Liam Lawson. Red Bull subsequently announced that Vips was suspended from all activities with the Austrian team.
Vips apologised for his language, but it now appears it was not enough for Red Bull, who issued a statement on Tuesday: "Following an investigation into an online incident involving Jüri Vips, Oracle Red Bull Racing has terminated Juri's contract as a test and reserve driver. The team does not condone any form of racism."

Piquet negatively in the news
Red Bull's decision comes on a day already marked by racism. Earlier on Tuesday it was revealed that triple world champion Nelson Piquet had used the N-word when talking about Lewis Hamilton. Many teams have already shown their support for Hamilton and this is Red Bull is the next team to join them.
