Start times FP3 and qualifying adjusted due to track repairs in Baku
- GPblog.com
Due to multiple repairs to the Baku City Circuit, the race committee has decided to start the third free practice later than planned. This decision affects not only the schedule of the third free practice, but also the rest of Saturday's schedule in Azerbaijan.
This is because qualifying has also been postponed by fifteen minutes. Originally, qualifying for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix was scheduled to start at 15:00, but due to the repairs, Q1 will only start at 15:15. According to the regulations, there must be two hours between the end of the third free practice and the start of qualifying and therefore qualifying starts later than expected.
Still maximum time
There are no consequences for the rest of the weekend, as the drivers still have the full hour in the third free practice to collect data and finalize the setup before they are not allowed to change anything else for qualifying.
#FP3 will now begin at 15:15 (local) and will still be 1 hour long.
