Ferrari made a big impression in the second free practice session of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. With Charles Leclerc, the Italian formation was over two tenths faster than Sergio Perez, while Max Verstappen was even more than three tenths behind. For Helmut Marko, however, it is not yet a reason to worry, he let us know to Motorsport-Magazin.com.
Indeed, the Austrian sees that Ferrari has managed to be faster over a lap all season, but in the race, this is different, according to Marko. "This is the usual," he judges, after which he expresses his hope. "During the long runs we seem to be a bit faster."
Perez performed better than his teammate during the first two free practice sessions. Whereas in the first session he managed to put the fastest time on the board with 1:45:476, a few hours later he was over two seconds faster and finished in second position.
Horner claims strong Verstappen and Perez
Christian Horner announced after the two free practice sessions that the team does not want to make a distinction between Verstappen and Perez for the time being. The team boss believes that both drivers should strengthen each other and thus be able to compete with Ferrari.
