Jolyon Palmer saw that Charles Leclerc's frustrations ran high during the Monaco Grand Prix. The Monegasque started the race from pole position but eventually had to settle for a fourth final spot. Palmer could well understand Leclerc's feelings, he told Formula1.com.

The driver had a chance to regain the lead in the world championship in his home country. Leclerc was well underway in free practice and qualifying, but during the race, Red Bull Racing trumped his team with an outstanding strategy. As a result, he had to leave Sergio Perez, Carlos Sainz and Max Verstappen ahead.

"Leclerc was audibly and visibly frustrated after the race, completely understandably. He put his faith in the team and in Monaco he felt he was let down," Palmer analyzed the situation. "But Formula 1 is a team game, and he will know it only too well. It’s no use crying over spilt milk."

Ferrari and Red Bull battle it out again in Baku

In a week and a half, the Baku Grand Prix is scheduled to take place. Palmer notes that Leclerc took pole position in Azerbaijan last year, so the driver's confidence will be high. However, Red Bull Racing also has a good chance of winning.
