Hamilton: "I'm sorry I haven't given you any great results yet"

Lewis Hamilton finished the Monaco Grand Prix eighth and was again beaten by teammate George Russell. The seven-time world champion thanked his fans and apologized for the lack of good results this year.
Hamilton became quite frustrated behind two-time world champion Fernando Alonso on the streets of Monaco. Alonso seemed to be driving slowly on purpose in order to keep Hamilton, among others, behind him. When the Spaniard heard from his team to drive faster to help teammate Esteban Ocon, Alonso suddenly found himself gaining a few seconds per lap in pace. The tough race for Hamilton ended in another loss to Russell. The younger Brit again gains six points in the championship compared to Hamilton.
Hamilton is grateful for his fans
Although things seemed to be going better for Mercedes in Barcelona, the team was not as impressive the following week in Monaco. Despite the lack of good results, Hamilton wants to thank his fans who continue to support him.
In a story on his Instagram, the Mercedes driver wrote: "I want to thank you all for your unwavering support. I cannot express how grateful I am for those I saw this weekend and for the others who watched in other places around the world. I appreciate you and hope you had a great weekend. I'm sorry I haven't given you any great results yet this year, but I won't give up. We win and lose together."
