Charles Leclerc was visibly and audibly frustrated after Ferrari's strategic blunder at the Monaco Grand Prix. It seemed that the local hero was finally going to end the "curse" that kept him from a good result in his home race, but it was not to be.

Leclerc not happy with Ferrari

After the race, Leclerc explains to Viaplay that the strategy his team suddenly chose had not been discussed with him. "We didn't discuss it. They just called me in and from the car you don't have a clear picture, so I believed in that," he explains.

When he got back into his car after the red flag he says he was calm again, but disappointment struck after the race. "We lost a lot of points today and it's a shame. The disappointment is big," Leclerc said.

The outcome of the race had a further tail end: Ferrari filed a protest against both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, both of whom allegedly crossed the line when exiting the pits.
