Wolff: 'Red Bull tends to be faster then, Ferrari less so'

Mercedes could not fight for pole position during qualifying for the Spanish Grand Prix, yet it seems that the team has taken a step in the right direction with the new updates. Toto Wolff expects a good race on Sunday.
George Russell will start from P4, while Lewis Hamilton will start the race from P6. The gap between Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen is still large, but the team seems to be able to get more involved in the battle. "I think we made a good step. This is the best result we could have expected," Wolff told Sky Sports.
Wolff expects his team to possibly be faster during Sunday's race. "We have more of a race car than a qualifying car, but we'll see tomorrow. Red Bull tends to be much faster in the race, Ferrari less so," the team boss continued.
Hamilton happy with updates
Hamilton in particular seemed to have trouble driving the Mercedes in recent races. However, after qualifying, the Briton is satisfied with the pace of the W13. "Hamilton said the car finally drives like a Formula One car and I think that's the best feedback you can get from a driver. You can also see that the next generation is coming and how George integrated into the team is great. The way he works with Lewis is great. The pace is there."
