- GPblog.com
After a one-off return in Emilia Romagna, Formula 1 is now back on European soil for several races. This weekend, the Spanish Grand Prix is scheduled to take place at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Find out what time to switch on for the various sessions of the race weekend here.
The Spanish GP is traditionally the opening of the European season in F1. Although we already had a race in Imola, this race after Miami really opens the season on European soil. Barcelona is also the circuit where the teams come to with updates, because they know the circuit so well here from all the testing and the factories are close to the circuit.
Excitement in Barcelona
In Spain, the title battle between Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen will also be resumed. In the last two races, Verstappen came closer to the Monegasque in the standings thanks to two victories, but the Ferrari driver still has a nineteen-point lead. In the constructors' classification, the Italian team is only six points ahead of Red Bull Racing.
