Max Verstappen shines in several international newspapers after his victory at the 2022 Miami Grand Prix. The Dutchman defeated Charles Leclerc and narrowed the gap with his title rival in the standings. Read here what the international media writes on Monday morning.

La Gazzetta dello Sport - Italy

'Verstappen is too much for the Ferrari 's', the Italian Gazzetta headlines on Monday morning after the race in the United States. The pink sports newspaper talks about a dominating Verstappen, while Leclerc proved unable to match the pace of the RB18 after a strong qualifying session. 'In Miami, a good Ferrari capitulated to the performance of the Dutch world champion.'

Marca - Spain

According to Spain's Marca, Verstappen took advantage of the only opportunity he had when Leclerc's mediums failed. 'Verstappen keeps his series of 'winning when he finishes' going with a win in Miami.' However, the Spaniards also had their eye on Carlos Sainz, who defended 'heroically' against Sergio Perez.

The Guardian - England

In England, The Guardian opens with the following: 'Verstappen holds off challenge from Leclerc.' According to the British medium, the tequila flowed liberally in Miami. "The Dutchman had to come back against the odds after a trying weekend to deliver with consummate skill a victory that again proved beyond doubt just what a level he is operating at when he has the car he wants beneath him and a race by the scruff of the neck."

Bild - Germany

At Germany's Bild, they are more concerned with the crash between Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel than with the frontrunners. The two Germans crashed towards the end of the race and thus threw away the chance for points. Bild does write about Verstappen's super late braking at the start to pass Sainz and about the shock for Ferrari that they could not dominate after a 1-2 in qualifying.

L'Equipe - France

'Florida turns Orange' is the telling headline of France's L'Equipe. According to the French sports newspaper, Verstappen confirmed his power grab in Formula 1 with his 'masterful' performance. Verstappen is said to have crushed opponents in front of all the stars in Miami.
