Carlos Sainz could look back with satisfaction on the Miami Grand Prix. Where the Spaniard started the race as second driver, he managed to finish in third position. Afterwards Sainz therefore had a good feeling about the race weekend.

The driver was still suffering on Sunday from the crash he experienced on Friday. Sainz went off track and had to take a hard hit, from which he kept suffering for the rest of the weekend. Despite this, he managed to keep Sergio Perez behind him for the entire race.

"I've felt better before," he commented on the third podium finish. "After the crash on Friday I still had pain in my neck going into the race but I had to manage it and fought through it. Checo on the medium tyres was very difficult to keep behind but I managed."

Leclerc has to settle for second

His teammate Charles Leclerc started the race from pole position but soon had to beat Max Verstappen. He then worked hard to pass his direct rival, but the reigning world champion proved capable of beating Leclerc.
