Issues for Red Bull Racing in the Miami Grand Prix. Sergio Perez, driving around in fourth place, briefly got within a second of Carlos Sainz, but suddenly the Mexican lost engine power. The connection with his Ferrari competitor was lost as a result, but the Red Bull team solved the issue within a couple of laps.

Over the team radio we hear Perez having a big talk with his engineer on the 20th lap:

- Perez: "I'm losing a lot of power"

- Race engineer: "It all looks good, the power unit all looks good"

Perez: "I'm losing power man, how can you say it's good. I'm losing four seconds per straight?"

Next, Max Verstappen's teammate is instructed to switch to a certain engine mode. That seems to help, because by now Perez is well underway again, but he has quite a gap to close towards Sainz in the remaining part of the GP. Christian Horner told Sky Sports that Perez had a sensor issue, that they were able to resolve quickly. He said Perez is still down on power but not as significant as previously.
