After the first two free practice sessions, Lando Norris takes stock. The new circuit for the Miami Grand Prix is pretty unforgiving. Norris has a hard head that there can be good racing.

Norris surprised by Miami road surface

After two solid practice sessions for the McLaren driver, Norris was able to make an assessment of the circuit. We saw a lot of spins and slides during practice; we also saw a big crash by Carlos Sainz. Norris thinks he knows what caused that. Speaking to Sky Sports, the Brit says: "It's extremely tricky. It's very bumpy in some places which is maybe not quite what we were expecting. Everyone was expecting it to be very smooth and beautiful but it's not."

Norris hopes the organization can improve something about the situation, but doesn't see a solution to the problem anytime soon. "If you go offline pretty much anywhere its game over and you spin and end up in the wall. It's punishing let's say. It will be difficult for racing. There is one line." If it's going to be really difficult or dangerous, F1 fans might be robbed of an exciting battle. As many as eight teams were in the top ten during FP2. Mercedes was even on top again.
