Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez gave Red Bull Racing its first 1-2 victory since 2016 in Imola. Helmut Marko says the result gave the team great satisfaction and that Red Bull has shown it has potential, especially after the difficult weekend in Australia.

That the Austrian racing stable dared to bring updates to the sprint weekend in Imola was the key to the good result, according to Marko. Moreover, both drivers performed to the maximum, much to the satisfaction of the advisor.

Marko praises Verstappen and Perez

At SpeedCity Broadcasting the Austrian explains that he instructed Perez before the start to get a one-two punch to close the gap to Ferrari. "If it is as easy as that we will tell them more often," jokes Marko.

He emphasizes the good atmosphere within the team, which was clearly visible when Verstappen and Perez walked fraternally onto the podium. "The whole atmosphere is really good that's what makes the team so strong," Marko said.
