Max Verstappen has a questionable record to his name this season: if he finishes, he wins the race. Sounds good, but so far it has simultaneously meant that the Dutchman has only finished half of his races. If it has to be this way, he would therefore rather lose the record.

Verstappen on questionable record

"It's not a bad record," he laughs when Sky Sports confronts him with it. "but I still wish I could finish races in second and not retire. We just had to learn from our reliability trouble and I think we did as a team."

The Red Bull Racing driver believes his team made the right decisions all weekend and was on top of everything. "It was a good weekend for us, we needed it," he continued. "I didn't expect us to have a weekend like this. We ran the race very well and made zero mistakes."

Of putting his 2021 rival, Lewis Hamilton, on a lap, Verstappen is not impressed. "Mercedes has been slow all year, so for me it's not anyhing exciting," said the reigning world champion.
