Marko looks at Mercedes: 'We are on a different level'

Mercedes is having a disappointing start to the season. While the German formation won seven consecutive Constructors' Championships, this season Ferrari and Red Bull Racing both have a quicker car. Nevertheless Helmut Marko feels that Mercedes should not be underestimated.
Red Bull's advisor knows better than anyone how treacherous Mercedes' opposition can be. In recent seasons, the Germans have frequently proven that they are capable of fighting themselves back and thus coming out of the hat as a surprise. It would therefore not surprise Marko if this happens again.
"We are on a different level, but you should never underestimate them," he noted in an interview with German Sport1. "It only takes a small change in aerodynamics and suddenly it changes. Mercedes is still a candidate for the world championship."
Mercedes above Red Bull in constructors' championship
Despite lagging behind the competition, Mercedes currently occupy the second spot in the Constructors' Championship for the time being. This is largely due to the three retirements Red Bull have experienced this season, meaning the difference between the two teams after three races is 10 points. This coming weekend, a Grand Prix in Imola is scheduled.
