Binotto gives explanation for strong season start Ferrari

It was expected that Ferrari could compete for the world title this season. However, the lead that Charles Leclerc has after three Grands Prix comes as a surprise to many. This is also the case with Mattia Binotto, as he told Formula1.com.
Leclerc convinced during the first three races. Twice he was the best of the weekend, while in Saudi Arabia he took the second final position. It ensures that he can now be found in the lead position in the world championship with 71 points, giving him 34 points more than pursuer George Russell.
"I think we worked hard and put a lot of priority on 2022," is how Binotto explained the success. "I knew the team was a great team and we improved ourselves compared to the past seasons, and I was hoping to have a competitive car by the start of the season."
Ferrari maintains focus for coming months
It does not mean, however, that the Italian racing stable is sitting back and relaxing. Indeed, Ferrari's team boss emphasized earlier that the stable expects Red Bull Racing and Mercedes to still be fighting back. Ferrari is therefore doing everything it can to stay ahead of the competition.
