Timo Glock writes in his column after the Australian Grand Prix that Red Bull now has to solve something they don't have much experience in at all anymore: reliability problems. Except for some minor problems in the era with Honda, everything went fairly smoothly. The former Formula One driver says the best thing a frustrated Max Verstappen can do now is to keep his patience.

"It's necessary to find out the causes of those mistakes. Red Bull is not used to that. In recent years, the team has not had any technical problems. They have to analyze what the reason is," said Glock, who states that there is some urgency behind it. "Still, it's a worst-case scenario because they already lose too many points at the beginning of the season."

Red Bull still has time and opportunities

Equally, the current Formula One season counts no less than 23 Grands Prix. Never before have so many weekends been organized in 2022. In addition, because of the new regulations, the bolides have a lot of development potential, so the steps taken with updates will be greater than last season. However, the fact remains that Red Bull needs to develop faster and better than Ferrari in the coming months.

The Milton Keynes-based team has proven in recent years that it can take significant steps forward during a season. In the early years of Verstappen's career at Red Bull they often had to close a gap of more than half a second to Mercedes. Red Bull often succeeded in that mission, so the knowledge and skill is there.

Patience is important

What is important, however, is that Red Bull and its drivers and not lose patience, Glock writes."Of course Max Verstappen is also reacting very irritated about this issue and is now threatening to lose his patience. But he has to keep [patience]. He has a car that works well and with which he can fight for the championship. But Red Bull will have to solve the technical problems as soon as possible," the German concluded on the website of Sky.
