Italian authorities have seized properties belonging to Nikita Mazepin and his father Dmitry Mazepin. The property in question is a villa worth more than 100 million euros, reports news agency Reuters.

The operation targeted a villa named Rocky Ram, located in northern Sardinia. The police action is part of sanctions against wealthy Russians with ties to Vladimir Putin. Mazepin and his father are both on the sanctions list.

Italy has already seized nearly a billion euros worth of villas and yachts belonging to Russia's elite since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began. The most valuable property so far is the superyacht of billionaire Andrei Igoryevich Melnichenko. The yacht is worth 530 million euros.

It is another setback for Mazepin, who lost his Formula One seat at Haas shortly after the invasion began. His team severed ties with title sponsor Uralkali, halting Dmitry Mazepin's cash flow. This also ended Haas' obligation to provide Mazepin with an F1 seat.
