The Australian Grand Prix went dramatically for Max Verstappen. The Dutchman had to park his car next to the track and takes home zero points. Verstappen is very disappointed.

Verstappen had been unhappy with his RB18 all weekend and the Dutchman could not keep up with Charles Leclerc's pace throughout the race. Still, a P2 seemed to be in the cards, but even that didn't work out due to reliability issues. Speaking to Sky Sports, the Dutchman expressed his frustration.

"We are already miles behind, I don't want to think about the championship fight it's more important to finish races. Today was in general a bad day, not having the pace and managing my tyres," Verstappen said.

Verstappen knew there were problems

With his retirement, Verstappen loses important points again. It is the second time in three races that the Red Bull driver has taken home zero points, a bad start for the battle in the championship.

"It looked like an easy P2 and I could not fight Charles. But we didn't finish the race. I knew there was a problem, it was always going to be a question mark of finishing the race. If you want to fight for the title, these things can't happen. We have to get the car back and investigate," Verstappen said.
