The Australian Grand Prix is extra special for Daniel Ricciardo. This is because the McLaren driver is driving a home race for the first time in three years. It ensures that he has many obligations to fulfill. In conversation with Express Max Verstappen gives his former teammate some clear advice.
The reigning world champion knows from his joint period at Red Bull Racing that Ricciardo received a lot of requests in Australia. This made it far from easy for Ricciardo to maintain his concentration and thus perform to the maximum in his home country.
Verstappen gives wise advice
Verstappen experienced a similar race weekend in Zandvoort last calendar year. Thus, many media outlets hoped to engage with Verstappen. In the interview with the English medium, the driver explains that it is important to indicate your limits and also take time off to be able to deliver a top performance.
"You should be able to say 'no' to certain commitments," Verstappen stated. "At the end of the day you are here to drive and to race because that’s what you live for and what you get paid to do." After two GPs, Ricciardo is still on zero points. Lando Norris scored six points for the time being this season.
