For now, it is not Lewis Hamilton's weekend. The seven-time world champion did not get beyond Q1 and may potenially start from the pit lane. He is also uncomfortable with the lack of human rights and the drone attack on an oil refinery near the circuit.

Human Rights

Hamilton - as is well known - is a champion of equality and human rights. In Saudi Arabia, there is still a lot of work to be done on that. Critics therefore question whether F1 should operate in such countries at all. Hamilton seems to know the answer to that question. The German Bild Indeed, draws from his mouth: "I'm looking forward to finally leaving."

Fernando Alonso put his feelings in slightly more diplomatic terms: "We are here. We have to make sure everyone's safety is guaranteed. We drivers were worried not only about ourselves, but also about you journalists. Of course also about the mechanics and the fans."

Good work

The Spaniard indicates that the organizers and authorities did a good job. He says he wants to look forward and hopes not to experience anything like an attack again. "It wasn't nice to see the smoke while we were driving and didn't know what was going on," Alonso said.
