There has been another attack on a facility owned by Aramco, title sponsor of Formula One, in Jeddah. The building is close to the circuit where F1 is now present. Several media outlets report that the attack was a Houthi missile.

The organizers were already closely monitoring the situation in Saudi Arabia last week after several rocket attacks in the city. The decision was eventually made to allow the Grand Prix to go ahead, but things are now looking unsettled again.

Plumes of smoke seen during FP1

Telegraph reporter Erik van Haren shared images on social media of the plumes of smoke visible from the circuit in Jeddah. According to him, the F1 management does not want to speculate about the situation yet and asks to wait for official reports.

F1 journalist Chris Medland also let it be known on Twitter that F1 is waiting for further information from the authorities about what happened at the Aramco facility nearby. The fire is about ten kilometers away from the circuit.
