'Lawrence Stroll now even seems to be joining technical meetings'

Aston Martin is off to a very bad start to the 2022 Formula One season. Ralf Schumacher sees all things going wrong at the team, where Lawrence Stroll as owner now seems to be sitting in on technical discussions himself.
Aston Martin fails
Whereas Aston Martin, under the leadership of Lawrence Stroll, wanted to attack the very top of Formula 1, under his leadership it has gone from a place at the top of the middle table, now completely relegated to the bottom spot. The team failed to get out of Q1 in Bahrain with two cars and never came close to scoring points in the race.
Schumacher recognizes at Aston Martin a similar working method as with his former employer Toyota. The Japanese manufacturer also threw money around and brought in big names to get to the top quickly, but this 'bulldozer method' as Ralf calls it, does not work in F1 according to the German. '' They want to achieve too fast, too much,'' he says at Sport1.de.
Blame of Stroll
Schumacher heard that the car is a "catastrophe" and basically does everything you don't want. However, the worst is happening in the team meetings: ''The owner (Lawrence Stroll) now seems to be sitting at the meetings and telling them what to do. If that's the case, then it's going to be very difficult,'' says the former Formula One driver.
Meanwhile, the owner's son experienced a lousy weekend. He was beaten by reserve driver Nico Hulkenberg in qualifying. ''That's really embarrassing. Stroll should ask himself if he should find another hobby,'' the German concluded critically.
