Horner perplexed about allegedly published comments: "Slightly surprised"
- GPblog.com
Christian Horner has reacted in a conversation on Sky Sports to the statements that appeared from him during the first day of testing. The Brit does not deny that he made the statement, but there is some irritation at Red Bull Racing about the fact that the statement came out.
On Thursday morning, the final testing session before the 2022 Formula One season started. In Bahrain, Mercedes came up with an innovative W13 and it drew a lot of attention. In conversation with Auto, Motor und Sport Horner said that he thought the car violated the regulations and he saw several parts that were not legal.
Red Bull wants statements to disappear
Red Bull denied not much later that Horner had said this, but AMuS insisted that these statements had indeed been made. Due to the resistance Red Bull adjusted the statement and said that there was no "official" reaction from Horner about the W13. In this respect, it seems to be a yes/no situation and Red Bull is particularly irritated that this statement has come out.
"I was slightly surprised to be reading comments that I was supposedly making. To be honest, I haven't paid a great deal of attention to the Mercedes. It's obviously a fairly different concept, but that's something for the aero guys and designers to get into. I think it's beyond your (speaking to Ted Kravitz ) or my technical knowledge to say anything about this," the Red Bull Racing team boss said before walking away.
