According to Red Bull Racing, Christian Horner has not made any statements about Mercedes' W13. The Brit was previously quoted by Auto, Motor und Sport with statements about Mercedes' new car.

Mercedes made a big impression with the revamped W13 at the Bahrain International Circuiton Thursday morning. Auto, Motor und Sport reported that Christian Horner had commented on the new W13. The Red Bull Racing team boss reportedly said that the W13 went against the spirit of the new regulations and that there may be illegal parts on the car.

Horner has made no statements

However, a Red Bull Racing spokesman denied this in a statement from the team. "Christian Horner has not given any interviews regarding Mercedes’ car. Any quotes being attributed to him this morning are incorrect," the team spokesperson let us know.

Toto Wolff already reacted to Horner's statements at AMuS, letting it be known that he found the statements ridiculous. "How can you know and see after only half an hour that our car is illegal," the Mercedes team boss said. According to Red Bull, however, Horner did not make the statements.

Red Bull has since changed its statement. The team now says that no 'official' statement has been made about the Mercedes car and that it will not make an 'official' statement about it either.
