Haas declines to comment for now after statement on Russia from FIA
- GPblog.com
Haas F1 does not currently wish to comment on the FIA's statement regarding a package of measures related to the situation in Ukraine. The team will not be allowed to show any references to the Russian main sponsor it currently has in 2022.
Since 2021, Haas F1 has had a Russian title sponsor. The logo of UralKali, the company of the father of Nikita Mazepin, was large on the Haas car from the beginning of last season until the Thursday of the first test week in Barcelona. This is no longer possible due to the measures taken by the FIA.
No reaction from Haas yet
According to F1 journalist Will Buxton, the American team does not yet want to say anything about how the team will deal with the measures. Although Mazepin is in principle allowed to drive for the team, his future is far from certain now that referrals to Russia are no longer possible in Formula 1. Mazepin joined the American team partly because of money from his father's company.
