Several Formula 1 drivers have expressed their support for Ukraine, which was invaded by Russia during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. Earlier, the FIA decided to skip the 2022 Russian Grand Prix due to the war situation.

"What is happening in Ukraine is incredibly sad and heartbreaking," Leclerc wrote. The Monegasque expresses his horror at seeing so many people suffering from the current situation. "War should never be an option," reads another part of his statement.
Hamilton speaks of injustice and believes it is important to act against it. "My condolences go out to all the brave people in Ukraine who are facing terrible attacks because they choose a better future," the Mercedes driver lets us know. He also says he supports the Russian citizens who are opposed to the violence.
Norris also pays attention to the attacks on Ukraine and expresses his support for the people. He hopes that they can bring themselves to safety as best they can.
