New Formula 1 cars have problem: 'F1 knew that'
- GPblog.com
Formula 1 drivers will have to deal with an entirely new car this season. While the cars should make it easier for drivers to follow each other, there are also problems with the cars.
During the test days in Barcelona, all teams had the opportunity to try out their new car. The enthusiasm beforehand was great, but in the meantime, they have also noticed some problems. There is a discussion going on about the functioning of the car, Chris Medland reports. Aston Martin, among others, is said to be suffering from problems.
"The immense downforce causes the floor to get so close to the ground that it stops working, which leads to an immediate loss of downforce," he wrote on his Twitter channel. "The car pops back up, regains downforce, the floor goes down again. And repeat. F1 knew this would happen, but maybe not so dramatically." It would cause the cars to bounce, which can be clearly seen in the tweet below.

Ho-Pin Tung also comments on the new phenomenon. The racing driver explains on Twitter that it is an undamped movement on the tyre that causes problems. This is reportedly due to the fact that the cars are a lot stiffer than in previous seasons.

Preparing for the new season
The teams still have a few weeks before they start the new season. The first Grand Prix is scheduled for March 20, when the Formula One circus travels to Bahrain. There, a few test days are scheduled just before the race weekend.
