Horner sets clear goal: 'Keep number one on Verstappen's car'

After winning the world championship Max Verstappen drives around with number one on his Red Bull. Team boss Christian Horner thinks it's great to see and therefore sets a clear goal for the upcoming season: To keep that number one on the world champion's car.
The new regulations could just change the ranking on the Formula 1 grid, but the Red Bull team is motivated to defend Verstappen's title this season. The RB18 already attracted a lot of attention today with Adrian Newey's new aerodynamic designs.
"“It was a very short off-season, but it’s great to be back at the track and see the number one on the car, it’s been a long time since it’s been on an F1 car and our target this year is to keep it there. We are excited to get this new era of the sport underway and see the car run on track in anger for the first time", Horner says in a Red Bull press release.
Positive day for Red Bull
Perez will once again drive for the team alongside Verstappen next season. Horner, therefore, expects a lot from the Mexican, who has been able to get used to a new car and environment in his first year. Tomorrow it will be Perez's turn to take his seat in the Red Bull.
"With such a big regulation change it’s even more fascinating this year. We’ve got a great Team and we’re fully motivated coming into this season. Max felt the car was good to drive, so it was a positive first morning. It is going to be a good year for Checo, now he is in his second year with us more familiar with the Team", ends the Red Bull team boss.
