Wolff sees tough challenge ahead: 'A long time ago'

Toto Wolff will begin a new fight for the world title with Mercedes next season. The team boss of the German racing team is looking forward to a new battle, although for now it remains to be seen what the competition will be.
This season the Formula 1 teams have to deal with new regulations, so it is still unclear which teams will compete against each other. Whereas Mercedes and Red Bull Racing were still evenly matched in 2021, McLaren, Ferrari and Alpine, among others, also seem to have made strides forward.
Wolff is looking forward to seeing the difference in strengths, he told Formulapassion.it. "The direction for the development of the new cars was set a long time ago," Wolff reveals. "With such a different interpretation of the regulations, it is a fact that increases the appeal of Formula 1 to its fans."
Hamilton on the track Wednesday afternoon
George Russell stepped into Mercedes' new car for the first time on Wednesday morning. In the afternoon Hamilton returned to the track to get used to the car. On March 20 the first Grand Prix is scheduled, when the drivers travel to Bahrain.
