Hamilton on meeting Verstappen: 'For sure there will be an opportunity'

Lewis Hamilton is back at the Barcelona circuit this week to begin the first days of testing with Mercedes. The Briton hasn't spoken to Max Verstappen, but is open to a meeting. That he tells Formulapassion.it.
Hamilton suffered a painful defeat last season. During the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix he was in the lead for dozens of laps, but Verstappen managed to get past him on the last lap to take the world title. This was against the wishes of Hamilton who thought the situation was unfair.
Since then the seven-time world champion did not speak with Verstappen, but that does not mean that this moment will not come soon. In Spain, Hamilton did not yet meet his rival, but he is certainly open to it. "I haven't met Verstappen in person here in Barcelona yet but for sure there will be an opportunity," he said.
Great competition within Formula 1
Verstappen and Hamilton are once again the big favourites to win the world title this season. However, McLaren also seems to have a claim to the top spot in the world championship. In the coming weeks, the teams have ample opportunity to improve the cars, after which the season begins on March 20 in Bahrain.
