The visibility in the 2022 Formula 1 cars will be a lot less. That is the conclusion drawn by Alexander Albon and Nicholas Latifi after their shakedown in the new FW44.

On Tuesday, February 15, Williams presented the new FW44. Although there was only a show model on display with the new livery during the presentation, not much later the team dove onto the Silverstone circuit for a shakedown with the real car. Latifi and Albon both got behind the wheel for their part of the filming day.

Poor visibility for Williams drivers

Despite the fact that only 100 kilometres can be driven during such a film day, the drivers noticed something right away: visibility has been reduced because of the wheel covers. Latifi told Formel1.de that he will get used to it eventually, but that the visibility has clearly decreased compared to the previous cars.

Albon also complains about the limited visibility and states that it was not so bad on the open circuit of Silverstone. The Thai thinks that on circuits like Monaco, Baku and Jeddah the problems are much bigger. The former Red Bull pupil states that this can become tricky, because it is harder to see where you are on the track.
