Ricciardo wants more wins with McLaren: "That gives us a good chance"

Daniel Ricciardo needed some time to find his feet at McLaren, to which he transferred in 2021. Where he was overshadowed by teammate Lando Norris, especially in the first half of the season, the Australian struck back with a victory in Monza. He hopes to continue the upward trend from the end of last year in the coming Formula 1 season.
The McLaren driver expects Formula 1 to have an exciting season ahead. Not only for the drivers and the teams, but also for the public. Together with McLaren, he hopes to take another step towards the top.
Ricciardo expects more rivalry in 2022
'Our goal is to become more consistent in terms of achieving podiums and victories, and ultimately to fight for the title,' Ricciardo explained during a press event following the launch of the new MCL36.
He therefore sees opportunities in the revised regulations. 'That gives us a good chance, but that goes for many other teams as well,' acknowledges the 32-year-old Australian. He is also looking forward to a more competitive field, more wheel-to-wheel racing, and more rivalry. "I can't wait," Ricciardo concludes with a broad smile.
