Vettel: 'New season will be a big test for Aston Martin'
- GPblog.com
It will be an important season for Aston Martin: will the ambitious team make the step to the (sub)top once and for all, or will it remain anonymous in the midfield. Nobody really knows, not even the team itself.
Hell of a job
When Sebastian Vettel made the switch from Ferrari to Aston Martin, the German knew that a hell of a job awaited him. For the first time since his time at Torro Rosso, the four-time world champion was not in a car that would compete for wins, let alone a championship. But Vettel knew in advance what he was getting into.
The 2021 season was likely to be a transitional year until the new regulations came into effect. Indeed there was little development on last year's car and as a result, Aston Martin had a difficult year. Expectations for the current season are a lot higher, although it remains to be seen how Aston Martin compares to the other teams.
Big test
"This year is going to be a big test for us," Vettel said accordingly to AutoHebdo. "We will see how good we are, because as I said last year, we couldn't prove anything, we were focused on 2022 with few updates to our car for 2021. Today we have to deal with new regulations, new cars and I hope we can show what we are worth."
