In Saudi Arabia, Nyck de Vries crossed the finish line first, but in Mexico things didn't go as well. He leaves the country with mixed feelings.

The Dutchman started the race in sixth place and drove in the points for a long time, but towards the end of the race several drivers overtook him and he even drove outside the top ten for a while. He finished the race in sixth place after a lot of on-track battles. He is therefore still second in the championship with 38 points behind Edoardo Mortara who has 43 points.

Mercedes-EQ was not fast enough

The Formula E driver ends the weekend with mixed feelings. The Dutchman wanted to stay close to Pascal Wehrlein and Andre Lotterer, but the drivers behind him clearly had other plans and overtook him. Moreover, de Vries made the same mistake that Vandoorne already made in Saudi Arabia, as he missed one of the activation zones for the attack mode, through which he lost quite a bit of time.

Still, the team took advantage of every opportunity they had and ended up scoring as many points as possible. "We kept faith with each other and went for it. Overall I am satisfied with our day. I don’t think we were quite quick enough, so from that perspective, this was a decent result,” the 27-year-old driver said in Mercedes-EQ's official press release.
