McLaren Racing are ready for 2022 after a fine season in Indy Car and Formula 1. Team boss Zak Brown is motivated and believes McLaren can produce even better results this year.

2021 was a great year for McLaren. They achieved their first win in almost a decade and their first 1-2 in over a decade. They also managed to start from pole position for the first time since 2012. They are clearly making progress and therefore the team boss is ready for a new season with new regulations.

Yet he also admits that 2022 is going to be a new challenge for the team. The more you are in the front, the more difficult it becomes. In addition, the new regulations will also sometimes cause surprises. "Who knows what Formula 1 has in store for all of us this year, so we just need to keep our head down and continue to work towards our goal of being the championship contender in a few years time," Brown said in an official interview after the McLaren launch.

Other championships

McLaren Racing will not only be seen on the Formula One grid. Currently, McLaren also has an IndyCar team, an eSports team and they are also on the Extreme E grid for the first time this year. According to Brown, 2022 will be a good year for the team: "2022 will be an excellent year for McLaren Racing."

The IndyCar team, Arrow McLaren SP, consists of Mexican Pato O'Ward and Swedish Felix Rosenqvist. In addition to that, they will also compete in the Indianapolis 500. Juan Pablo Montaya will then try to achieve his third Indy 500 victory. McLaren will also participate in Extreme E for the first time, a championship that revolves around gender equality, climate change and sustainability. Rally champion Tanner Foust will team up with Emma Gilmour, the first female McLaren driver.
