McLaren on Friday became the fourth Formula One team to unveil the new car for 2022: the MCL36. Of course, drivers Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo could not miss the important moment. Norris, who announced earlier this week that he wants to continue with his team for at least four more years, cannot wait to get into his new car.

"I love it. Lovely colours, pops a lot more than last season so stands out a lot. It's a shame you can see the number three on the car because number four looks much better from this side. But apart from that, it's great," said Norris at the unveiling of the 2022 car.

The young Briton is pleased with the work team has done over the past few months. Norris has given a lot of feedback on different parts and that everything is now formed into a whole he calls 'pretty cool.' He is curious to see how the MCL36 will perform on the track.

Starting like in 2021

"The aim is to start off the season how we did, I wouldn't say end the season the same because it wasn't so good, because that wasn't very good. How we were at the beginning of last season is how we want to start this season. Many of the areas have improved for sure, but we will have to wait and see where we're going to be. We're working hard, but there are a lot of unknowns, so time will tell," Norris said of the start of the 2022 season.
