George Russell shines in his new Mercedes outfit for the first time in 2022. On social media, the team shared the first images of the Brit in his race suit.

It looks like today the first official photo shoot of 2022 is scheduled at the Mercedes team. It is not the first time for Russell to wear a Mercedes racing suit, as in 2020 he filled in for Lewis Hamilton at the Sakhir Grand Prix after the seven-time world champion tested positive for the coronavirus.

Still, this is a special moment for Russell, who can introduce himself for the first time as a full-time Mercedes driver. A challenging season awaits the Briton, with the experienced Hamilton as a teammate and the new regulations.

Livery colours

It is notable that the Mercedes suits are still black. Rumours have been circulating for some time that Mercedes will return to the familiar silver arrows in 2022, after the team chose to drive in a black livery in 2020 in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Whether the black race suit will be accompanied by another black livery, or whether Mercedes will opt for the silver arrows again after all, will become clear on February 18 during Mercedes' car launch.
