Mercedes appears to be coming into 2022 stronger than it was last season. The Italian branch of Motorsport.com is reporting that the W13 will have a brand new turbocharger.

Mercedes with more horsepower into the new year

The Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell will have a lot of changes under the bonnet. The drivers will have a new turbocharger. This has been made possible largely by a new German engineer working for the team in Brixworth. In addition, gasoline supplier Petronas has worked hard on improved fuel, which will provide the team with about twenty more horsepower.

The power of Mercedes engine is not the only thing that has been tackled during the winter period. Last season, the German team used far more than the allowed three engines per car. Hamilton used five and Valtteri Bottas even six. The reliability of the engines is said to be much better in 2022.

Launch of W13

Mercedes will unveil the Mercedes W13 E Performance to the public on February 18. The car will be launched through a digital launch event. As a result, it looks like all fans will be able to watch it live.
