Sebastian Vettel is preparing for his second season at Aston Martin. The four-time world champion had a difficult first year with the English team, with only one podium finish - in Baku. Next season, the German is hoping for more.

Great

For years Vettel drove for top teams, first Red Bull and then Ferrari. At the Italians he lost his love for the sport, which even led to rumors that the German wanted to quit. At Aston Martin - which in time wants to seriously challenge the top teams - he rediscovered what makes Formula 1 so much fun. "I think the team is great. I really enjoy working with the team and I think it's obviously been a big change," Vettel told the official F1 site.

Althogh the move was a big one, it hasn't led to great results yet.. "The whole team and myself, we were hoping for more. I think we got hurt quite badly by the regulation changes as the team had a great car [in 2020] but not [in 2021], so we did what we could."

Launch

On 10 February, Aston Martin will launch the car for 2022. The expectations for this season are there. "There have been some up and downs but obviously high hopes for [2022] with the new car, new regulations, and the team growing and hopefully getting stronger,” added Vettel.
