Almost a month after the all-decisive race in Abu Dhabi, people are still talking about the result. Nico Rosberg believes that Michael Masi's controversial decisions cancel each other out.

For the last lap of the race Max Verstappen was allowed to overtake the lapped cars which put him right behind Lewis Hamilton. The Dutchman managed to overtake his rival during the safety car restart to win the world championship.

Rosberg beat Hamilton in 2016 when they were teammates at Mercedes. The German has said before that he feels Hamilton's pain. The Briton has not posted anything on social media since the race. Yet Rosberg's opinion has changed since re-watching the footage.

Rosberg is at peace with result

Verstappen started the race from pole position, but Hamilton was able to overtake him at the start. The Dutchman later made an attempt to overtake him back, but Hamilton drove off the track and was able to keep his first place. According to the stewards, Hamilton gave back his advantage, but not everyone agrees.

On reflection, Rosberg believes the two incidents cancel each other out. “I said it was good what they [the stewards] did in the incident at the beginning of the race, but actually there I think it went Lewis’ way and he should have let him past”, Rosberg tells Sky Sports. “So it’s really one-one in terms of fundamental decisions during the race, so I think it’s okay.”
