Formula 1 has seen some drastic changes in recent years that should make the sport a lot more exciting. For Sebastian Vettel, however, the changes are going much too slowly, he reveals in an interview with Süddeutschen Zeitung.

The German driver has presented himself in recent years as a driver who is open to changes, but does not always find a hearing for this within Formula 1. Where on the one hand he is up against the FIA who is very critical of the changes, the fans are also often not keen on changes. Vettel knows this from experience, he says in the interview.

"For the outside world, Formula 1 always wants to come across as nice and open in its communication. Internally, I frankly find that courage lacking," says Vettel, who himself did call for change several times last season. "There is definitely a lot of room for improvement when it comes to possible reforms."

Changes go too slow for Vettel

At 34 years old, Vettel is one of the older drivers in the field. According to the Aston Martin driver, Formula 1 does lead the way when it comes to technological changes, but it is a completely different story with other ideas. Nevertheless, the FIA launched some plans in recent years, including sprint races. This coming season there are once again a number of them on the schedule.
