Lando Norris opened up about mental health issues he has faced shortly after the Russian Grand Prix, in which his first win slipped through his fingers in the closing stages of the race. The McLaren driver says he is proud that he can help others with this.

The young McLaren driver, who has built up a huge fan base since joining Formula 1 in 2019, has made no secret of the fact that he has sometimes struggled with the pressures of a Formula 1 career.

Especially during his first races, he found it difficult to deal with that pressure. He felt that if he didn't perform right away, he would lose his seat and partly because of that he suffered from depression.

According to Norris, his honesty about what he went through did a lot of good for both himself and others. He says according to Motorsport.com Norris is very happy that people are daring to speak out more about it, as that is often the first step towards recovery.

The young Briton received many comments from his fans about the positive effect his open attitude has had. He says he is proud to be part of the group of people who have accepted it and dare to speak out about it.
