Jean Todt has a rich history at Ferrari. The 75-year old Frenchman won the constructors' championship six times and the drivers' championship five times with the Italian team. From 2009 onwards he was active as president of the FIA and now that his term there has expired Todt can return to his old love.

After the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Mohammed Ben Sulayem was appointed as Todt's successor. Although he is already quite old, a return to Ferrari is not completely excluded. However, Mattia Binotto, team principal of the Maranello-based team, stressed that there are no concrete plans for this yet.

“I heard and I read about some speculations in that respect. What I can say is that so far they are only speculations. Personally, I worked with Jean Todt, he has been my boss. I think I learned a lot from him," Binotto told RACER in an interview. Whether Todt himself is interested in a role at Ferrari is (still) unclear.

Todt can help Ferrari

Binotto goes on to say that it has been an honour to work with Todt in the past and that this will be the case again if it comes to that. The Italian top man thinks that he personally and Ferrari as a team could learn a lot from Todt.
