Max Verstappen has won the Power Rankings of the official Formula 1 website. The Red Bull Racing driver did not receive the highest score from the six-man panel in Abu Dhabi, but in the general ranking the Dutchman was already unbeatable for rival Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton almost perfect

Hamilton received a 9.7 for his performance at the Yas Marina Circuit. The seven-time world champion drove almost all laps in the lead, battling against two Red Bulls. "A near-perfect score, as was the norm in that season-ending race". Hamilton may have missed out on pole position, but he set the pace on Sunday," writes one.

Verstappen scored a 9.5 and crowned a particularly strong and consistent season with the world title. At the start, the 24-year-old driver failed to cash in on his pole position and from then on he was trailing. "Ultimately, it all came down to that final lap shootout, and the Red Bull driver led the only lap that counted."

Verstappen finishes the season with an average of 8.9, while Hamilton has to settle for an 8.4. With that, the roles are reversed compared to 2020. Back then Hamilton scored 8.9 over all Grands Prix and Verstappen 8.6.
