OFFICIAL | Mercedes announces appeal against decision on Verstappen
- GPblog.com
Mercedes are not happy with the outcome of the Formula 1 championship, even after the stewards have given their final verdict. The team has announced that they will appeal again in an attempt to let Lewis Hamilton take the championship.
Mercedes announces new protest
How Hamilton feels about this remains a question mark for the moment. The seven-time world champion took his loss very well and congratulated Max Verstappen directly after the finish. Team boss Toto Wolff seemed to take it less well. Under his leadership, the team filed two protests, both against the official result and against Verstappen himself.
Both protests were dismissed by the FIA, making the title for the Dutchman definitive. Mercedes says they will not leave it at that either. The German racing team has announced that they intend to appeal again, which could drag the case out even longer.
