Bottas: 'I feel like I lost the World Championship'
Valtteri Bottas is gutted that his now-former teammate Lewis Hamilton didn't win the drivers World Championship. Bottas sees the positive that Mercedes have won the constructors title, but he admits it feels like a defeat to him.
Bottas and Hamilton have been working together to form one of the most successful teammate partnerships in the history of the sport. Bottas will leave the team and go to Alfa Romeo next season.
Safety car drama
Hamilton looked set to take his eighth World Championship, but it was lost after a late safety car changed the situation. Speaking to Sky Sports, Bottas is visibly disappointed.
"I haven't seen anyone yet, but I can feel it. We wanted both titles. Getting constructors again is huge. But at the same time, it hurts because Lewis didn't get the drivers. I feel like I lost the championship because he lost it. I really feel gutted for him, I feel he deserved it today. Then things change, that's sport. Sometimes it goes against and sometimes it goes for you, today was not our day," Bottas said.
"I am sure they make decisions for safety. If there was a car sideways, normally you need a safety car. Just unlucky."
