Former team boss supports Verstappen: 'In my heart I want that very much'

Frits van Amersfoort naturally hopes for a world title for Max Verstappen, but the former team boss of the Dutchman suspects that Lewis Hamilton has a better chance.
In conversation with the AD Van Amersfoort, who will race in Formula 3 again with his team in 2022, is of course clear about his former pupil. Frits is still full of praise for the driver who raced his ass off in 2014 in Formula 3, took most of the victories and in the end only just missed out on the title.
Hamilton has the best chance
''In my heart I want Max to be world champion. But I also take into account that it will be Lewis'', says Van Amersfoort. According to the man behind Van Amersfoort Racing Hamilton has the advantage with the last two races in Saudi Arabia and Abu Dhabi, where especially power plays a big role.
''I still think the advantage lies with Lewis. He has won the last two races and the circuit in Jedda is really for horsepower, so Mercedes will be very strong. I enjoy the battle between those two, it reminds me of Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna. The two greatest racing drivers in the world at the moment are at each other's throats'', concludes Van Amersfoort.
