Verstappen: "Hopefully we will be competitive"
- GPblog.com
Max Verstappen can become the first Dutch Formula 1 world champion this weekend. But title rival Lewis Hamilton would have to have a very bad weekend and not finish higher than sixth. The Dutchman will not want to worry about this yet and will focus on only one thing: winning in Saudi Arabia.
During the press conference before the Grand Prix in Saudi Arabia, Verstappen of course got the necessary questions about the climax of the title fight. According to Formel1. de, however, he explained that his approach to the weekend will not change. In any case, it is still 'too early' to talk about the balance of power. He can't win the title alone anyway. Because even with a victory he needs a bad result from Hamilton.
Wait and see
"I'll do it like I've been doing it all season. Nothing changes. It's a new circuit, we have to get to know it first. I'm just concentrating on the weekend and trying to be as competitive as possible," the world championship leader said.
He continued: "We are very motivated, it's a new opportunity for everyone. Hopefully, it will be an exciting weekend and hopefully, we will be competitive. But it's too early to say anything about it."
